Resorts World Impressions: An average experience at the Hilton

Our recent getaway at Resorts World Las Vegas promised a glimpse into luxury, starting with a complimentary two-night stay at the Hilton, one of the resort’s premier accommodations. Nestled in the heart of the famed Strip, our experience offered both highlights and some unexpected quirks.

**Room Comfort and Amenities**

Our standard king room, though slightly smaller at 400 square feet compared to other stays, felt surprisingly spacious. Adorned with modern decor and boasting a partial strip view, the room exuded a modern style and aesthetic. The bathroom, featuring Kohler fixtures and a well-lit ambiance, was a standout—complete with a rain shower head, hand wand, and a convenient bench.

However, the beds fell short of expectations for a Hilton standard, lacking the plush comfort we anticipated. The pillows, disappointingly thin and firm, and a mattress that didn’t contribute to a restful sleep experience. Moreover, the minibar fridge was non-functional during our stay, an unexpected inconvenience in a newly established hotel.

The bathroom was not without it’s quirks as well. There were only two hooks inconviently located behind the entrance door and the shower door. When you need your towel after the shower, you have to open the shower door (it only opens out and in one direction) and step out into the bathroom and around the door to get a towel?

The entrance door only opened 2/3 of the way, I realize it was to avoid hitting the shower door that also opened into the same path. But there’s it’s quite jaring to open a door and have it stop mid swing.

**Amenities and Service**

On the tech front, the room’s smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime capabilities was a plus, complemented by ample storage in the credenza. Unlike recent stays elsewhere, where space was limited, here we found practicality in the form of spacious drawers—save for one occupied by the room safe.

Yet, minor inconveniences persisted; the iron provided was sticky and prone to scorching clothes—a frustration all too familiar in hotel stays. These nuances detracted from an otherwise pleasant room experience.

**Resort Ambiance and Facilities**

Navigating Resorts World proved intuitive, though lacking the vibrant energy of other Las Vegas hotspots. The resort’s food hall, while convenient, closed early compared to other options on the Strip, and prices for food and beverages skewed higher than average—a factor to consider for budget-conscious travelers.

**Overall Impression**

Our stay at Resorts World was undeniably comfortable, thanks in part to the smooth check-in process and the well-appointed room, albeit with its share of setbacks. While the resort offers convenience and modern amenities, it lacks the bustling atmosphere found in neighboring casinos.

Would we return? For those seeking a centrally located retreat with moderate luxury and easy access to nearby food and drink options like Tacos El Pastor, Tacos El Gordo, Bagelmania and Peppermill, Resorts World presents a viable option, especially for Elite-level guests enjoying perks like free self-parking. However, for a truly indulgent experience, options like the Wynn or Bellagio may better suit those looking to splurge.

While our complimentary stay provided insights into Resorts World’s offerings, it didn’t quite capture the wow factor or unique appeal that would compel a return visit. For future trips, exploring other options within Las Vegas might offer a more satisfying experience overall.
